The 3B Scientific A88 life-size human right hip joint model is used for anatomical study of the common femoral fractures and coxarthrosis or hip osteoarthritis symptoms in the elderly. The model is half life-size for demonstration, and features the following fractures: medial femoral neck; lateral femoral neck; fracture through the trochanteric region (pertrochanteric femoral); fracture below the trochanters (subtrochanteric femoral); femoral shaft; femoral head; greater trochanter; and fracture or avulsion of the lesser trochanter (avulsion fracture of the lesser trochanter). The A88 is mounted on a stand, with a relief of the hip’s frontal section through the femoral neck, for detailed examination. The model is made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic, which is corrosion resistant, lightweight, and has high strength. PVC resists reactions with acids, gasoline, alcohol, and hydrocarbons. Anatomical models are typically used as educational aids in medical and scientific classrooms and office settings.The model measures 5.5 x 3.9 x 8.7 inches/14.0 x 10.0 x 22.0cm (L x W x H).
